The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 478.64 points (+0.9%) to 51,828.62; the S&P 500 rose 39.28 (+0.5%) to 7,743.41; the Nasdaq Composite gained 129.34 (+0.5%) to 27,068.72.

For the week, AP figures put the S&P up about 1.2%, the Dow up about 0.3%, and the Nasdaq up about 2.1%. Brent crude fell about 2.8% Friday to roughly $97.44 a barrel on hopes around a phased reopening of the Strait of Hormuz; the 10-year Treasury yield briefly printed near 5.22% after consumer-sentiment data before settling back near 5.15%.
